Telangana Schools Summer Holidays 2017 Started Five Days Early: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed that summer holidays of schools should start from today, five days ahead of schedule, in view of oppressive heat in many parts of the state.

The CM felt that it was not desirable to send the children to school in this weather, a release from Rao’s office said here.

Date of Commencement of academic year: 21.03.2017
Vacation : 20.04.2017 to 11.06.2017
Reopens after vacation school: 12.06.2017

The original schedule of the summer vacation was to begin April 24 and the last working day for schools was April 22 2017.

All government and private schools in the state will remain closed from April 20 for summer vacation.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao instructed the education department to declare summer vacation from April 20 in view of the unusual temperatures being recorded in the state for the past few days.

Temperatures in Hyderabad and throughout the state recorded beyond 43-degrees Celsius on Tuesday and it was predicted to cross 45-degree Celsius by the weekend.
