Senior IAS officer K Pradeep Chandra has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary to Telangana government following the retirement of Rajiv Sharma on Wednesday.
A Government Order (GO) has been issued on the appointment of Chandra, an IAS officer of the 1982 batch. Chandra had been serving as a Special Chief Secretary in the Revenue department.
Chandra is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He recently acquired a PhD degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
He has worked as District Collector in the Districts of Vishakhapatnam and Guntur. He has also worked as the Director of Technical Education, Executive Director of the AP Industrial Development Corporation, MD of the State Scheduled Caste Cooperative Finance Corporation, Secretary to Government in the Finance Department and Commissioner of Inquiries.
Before being promoted as Chief Secretary, Pradeep Chandra had been posted as the Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce and Commissioner of Industrial Promotion, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
